Daniel K.Y. Chan is the Department Head of the Architecture, Interior and Product Design Department at Hong Kong Design Institute.  He received the Bachelor in Industrial Design from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the Master in Marketing Management from Macquarie University.  He had been working in the consumer electronics industries and won many design awards in the past, which includes the 1994 Governor’s Award for Industries.  Apart from design awards, he had also won the Vocational Training Council (VTC) Teaching Excellence Award twice in the year 2003 & 2009.  He is also the member of the Design Council of Hong Kong, Panel Member of the Design Incubation Programme, and the Judging Panel Member of the Hong Kong Awards for Industries (Consumer Product Design).  His research interest is in Design Education and Curriculum Development.
