Lorraine Justice has been at the forefront of design and technology for decades.
She is an internationally known design educator, Fellow of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), and considered one of the top 50 in helping to shape the current fields of design. She is an active member of the TED community. She serves on the Editorial Board for 5 design journals, advisory boards for universities and companies, and consults internationally for industry and government entities. Her new book The Future of Design, Global Product Innovation for a Complex World (Nicholas Brealey/,Hachette) will be available on Amazon and through other venues in the Spring of 2019.

Prior to joining academia, Dr. Justice worked in industry for 13 years as a designer for companies such as Battelle, CompuServe, and NCR. Her area of expertise is in design research and user interface. She completied the book China’s Design Revolution (MIT Press 2012) after working 7 years in Asia as the Director and Dean of the School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). During those years she was able to help secure a US $35 million dollar grant from the Hong Kong Jockey Club for support of the new Innovation Tower by the Pritzker Prize winner, Zaha Hadid, and to start the Design Institute for Social Innovation. Dr. Justice was able to take the PolyU School of Design from relative obscurity to one of the top 30 design schools in the world within 4 years.
