Introduction

Whether you are already a fan or a new comer, we welcome you to attend “DesignEd Asia Conference 2008”.

Jointly organized by School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Design Institute (member of VTC Group) and Hong Kong Design Centre, the conference will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, December 9 - 10, 2008 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. With this year’s theme "Culture as Inspiration", prominent speakers and researchers from around the world will be attending to discuss culture in design and other current issues related to design education.

The "DesignEd Asia Conference" is in its fourth year. Due to its continued success, the conference scale has been expanding since 2007. The conference provides a practical platform to bring international design educators and professionals together to share views, knowledge and experiences. Every year this conference attracts hundreds of international academics, design educators, practicing designers, executives, marketing professionals and design students.

There will be a 2-day programme featuring presentations, round-table discussions, and paper presentations. It is one of the key events under the week-long programme of "Business of Design Week (bodw)". Organized by HK Design Centre, and supported by HK Trade Development Council, and Innovation and Technology Commission of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, bodw is one of the biggest and well-recognized annual design events of its kind in Asia.

The “DesignEd Asia Conference” relates to all design educators and designers globally. You do not want to miss this opportunity! We hope to see you there this year!
